First Biscay Barbet to win Best In Open Show AKC

Sunday, March 17th 2013 was not only time to celebrate St Patrick's Day, but it was a day to celebrate the Barbet! The Wire Haired Vizsla Club of America sponsored an AKC-FSS Open Show in Louisville, Kentucky that day, and our Izzy (Treasures Biscay's Sapphire) was the big winner!!  Izzy, Bric (Ginkgo de Amelia Bric) and Daytona (Ginkgo de Treasures Daytona) all competed in the FSS Barbet group, as well as 26 other rare breed dogs - from the AKC Miscellaneous Group and the Foundation Stock Service Group. Izzy gave her handler, Amelia Ballak, some work to do, as she decided it was not her day to cooperate in the ring...but after a stellar performance, the girls pulled it out, and won Best of FSS breeds. Again, in the ring to compete against the best Misc. breed - a male Wire Haired Vizsla.....the judge, Mrs. Carol S. Brown reported that Izzy "exemplified the breed standard" and was then awarded Best In Show. What a moment....what a day! (I cried) The first Barbet to win a Best in Show in the AKC Open Show circuit!!

Thank you to Stacy Able at American Barbet, and our precious Amelia Ballak...and of course....so happy for the Barbet today!!
